Domingo Báñez (1528-1604) was one of the most influential authors of the School of Salamanca: a disciple of Melchor Cano, Báñez joined the Dominican order at the age of eighteen and became one of the most influential Spanish Theologians of the 16th century. „De Iustitia et Iure Decisiones“ stands in the literary tradition begun by Domingo de Soto and is considered a pivotal work of the Iberian Scholastic.
